A series of 16 polaroid-pictures documents life of Russian-Germans who just settled down between the two parts of the city of Villingen-Schwenningen in southern Germany.
By choosing polaroids as a photographic surface and bearing out a visual language which is referring mainly to the everybody well known family photo-albums of the fifties, the pictures evoke a strange souvenir to another time when, similar to the recent situation of the Russian-Germans in Villingen-Schwenningen, people were (re)settling down and made themselves at home.
The disorientation in the time provokes immediately the question about the future: what happened afterwards? Or: what will happen in the following times? How this neighbourhood will grow?
